Home displays refuse to show my photos

My home displays have started refusing to show my Google photos. They both show google photos as selected in settings but it always always ALWAYS just shows the default art gallery. I have tried both reboots and factory resets. I'm getting very frustrated because they used to work just fine. I've tried leaving the public preview also but it makes no difference.

Hi Robb2,

Thanks for reaching out to our community.

It's important to be able to view your photos on your home displays. Not being able to do so can be frustrating. Let's work together to fix it!

I suggest temporarily deactivating album settings for a moment. This should reset the display to the default behavior.

After returning it to default add a new album to Google Photos and include a few photos (the content doesn't matter). This will help us confirm the display can access photos at all.

Make sure your Nest display has permission to access your Google Photos.

  • Select the Nest display on the Google Home app.
  • In the top right corner, tap Settings > Photo frame.
  • Choose Google Photos as your preferred photo source.

Select only the new album you created. Sometimes, Google Photos may have trouble displaying photos with different formats from others in the album. Using a new album helps us isolate this as a potential cause.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Angel.
