Home pops and disconnects

I got my mini a few weeks ago, my first google home product.

When I have google play music on it, there are occasional static pops. I have followed advice online to disable the ultrasonic sensor, and this is still happening.

When I cast music to it from my phone (which I often do with sleep music), it will sometimes disconnect during the night (my insomnia means I've been able to ascertain the times appear to be random).

Could this be a glitchy unit? Or is just how they are?

Thanks for reaching out! I'm happy to help you with the inconvenience you're experiencing with your Google Nest or Home speaker/display. Here are some steps you can try:

• Confirm if a music service is working by playing a song. 
   
• Say "Okay Google, play music." (Note: Music will play from your default music provider)
   
• Reboot Google Nest or Google Home speaker or display.
   
• If applicable, try taking off the device's base cover to see if the poor quality is a result of a loose base cover.
   
• Perform a factory reset.

Please let me know after trying these steps if it  works properly.
