Recently there has been a new Google/Samsung ad (the one with the Lawrence brothers) running on Hulu that plays for me ALL THE TIME, like every other commercial break. Unfortunately, my home speaker is activating and responding to both instances of “hey, Google” in the ad. The second one starts some weird techno music, and when I say “stop music” it stops the video on my tv instead (sony smart tv that is also connected to my account). When I restart the episode I’m watching, I inevitably have to watch ads again, and sometimes get a repeat of this entire cycle immediately. How do I keep my speaker from responding to ads that use “hey Google” or “ok Google”? Or is there a way to report this???

Hey Kobrachrome and Chellerific,
Thanks for the added information. I'll pass this along to the team to request the ad to be blocked but I will not be able to provide a timeline. For other users having the same issue, please do not hesitate to update this thread so we can add the ads on our list.
Cheers,
Muddi

I am dealing with the same thing. It’s obnoxious and needs to be fixed.

I have the exact same problem.. and it also starts my Philips hue lights flashing every time they say party lights on.. I'm pretty much done watching Hulu because of it

It’s just so ridiculous that they wouldn’t have keyed the assistant to not respond to THEIR OWN ADS. There has to be something they could do on their end to keep it from happening, right? And if not, there should be a clear way to report or keep the speaker from responding to a specific stimulus.

Hulu told me to turn off the mic. Lol. This what you want. Google?

Really big LOL. Kind of defeats the purpose of having the smart speaker in the first place, doesn’t it?!

Hey folks,
Thanks for sharing details about the issue here, and my apologies for the late response.
I know how frustrating it is when your Google Home/Nest devices are randomly triggered by the TV ads. I want to gather more information about this so I can forward it to the team. For other users please provide the following information below:
It would be helpful if you can provide a link to a recording of the ad (YouTube link, video taken on their phone, etc.).
Cheers,
Muddi

Thank you so much @Kobrachrome this is exactly what I've experienced! Except with the lights it asks me to set it up. It happens both with my Samsung smart TV and my Insingia Roku TV.
