How do I stop people in my dorm from casting from my nest?

We have the same student wifi in our building, and on the google home app I can see a bunch of other local devices people own. 'Let others control your media' is already off so I'm not sure how someone keeps blasting audio through my nest in the middle of the night. I looked into setting up a guest network from the app but that wouldn't apply for the people already connected to the dorm wifi. My nest is honestly pretty unusable because of it. Has anyone managed to find a fix for this that doesn't include getting seperate wifi?

Hi penpen,

Google Nest and Google Home speakers and displays are designed for easy use on a secure private home WiFi network and not large public/private networks.

The 'Cast media notification' setting only disables notifications being displayed on other devices connected to the same WiFi network, it doesn't stop others from casting to the device.

Other users in similar situations have used a travel router to create their own private WiFi network from the public/open network being used but you should always speak with the network administrator first.

Cathal
