How do I update the software?

As mine is currently showing 1.56.282045

While the latest on the website shows as 1.56.309385

Sometimes a reboot of the device may help.  You can also opt into the preview program. Preview Program overview - Google Nest Help That is what I have on my devices and will usually be the most updated firmware.

Be rebooted and that's not worked

It sometimes does help to do the reboot. Other than opting into the Preview Program you may need to wait for another over the air push from Google.

Keep in mind the "preview program" is really beta, and all the issues that accompany beta:-)
