How do you change the alarm sound on nest mini?

RicS

I want to use my new nest mini as an alarm in the morning. I have a really brutal alarm clock at the moment so I would like an equally brutal alarm ring - but the one the nest mini seems to use is really gentle and frankly a bit pants. I could easily sleep through that!

Can anyone tell me how I change the "ringtone" of the alarm sound on nest mini please? All I can find is how to change the volume, and that's not what i'm looking for.

Apologies if this has been asked elsewhere.

Hello RicS,

Thank you for reaching out. I understand the importance of a strong alarm to wake up. I would be more than happy to help look into your question.

At this time, only alarm tones can be changed on Nest displays, not speakers. A solution I would suggest is setting a media alarm.

With a media alarm, you can choose your favorite song, music, or radio to wake you up. Here is some information regarding setting a media alarm. Thanks!

Hey RicS,

Sorry for the late reply. I wanted to check in and see if you are still in need of any help changing the alarm sound on your device? Please let me know if the article sent above helped, or if you are still having issues. I would be happy to take a closer look.

Best regards,

It doesn't help. I want to set an alarm with the audio file of my choosing which will not be a song, or some YouTube soundtrack, or character alarm. So no. It didn't help.

I've come to the conclusion Google doesn't care about the use cases of its users.

Anytime YouTube gets mentioned that seems to be the case.

RIP Google Music.

Still disgusted by it. YouTube music stinks. Bad UI. No Assistant integration. No way to purchase music.

Nest mini is a compromised product. Deeply unimpressive.
