Recently, my Nest Hubs have started showing News on the Your Morning and Your Evening screens. I mostly use the Hubs as picture frames, so news is the last thing I want to see when I'm looking for something pleasant.
How can I turn this off?
Thanks!

I've been searching all day for a way to remove the news card and I can't believe there's not a way to remove it. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks it's frustrating. Has anyone found a way to fix this?
In general, the personalization for the hub is pretty minimal and the UI is very slow.

I’m also concerned about this because it’s showing headlines that I don’t want my children to see. If we can’t remove news, it would be a dealbreaker and I’d return the device.

Looking for this too! It us unreal that the customization is so low on these things, or at least so unintuitive that a regular Google ecosystem user can't figure it out. I don't need to see horrible headlines and photos when I'm still half asleep shuffling to my coffeemaker at 5am!

I detest that the Nest Hub shows this with no controls to disable it.
I thus end up ignoring it and strongly recommending against purchasing it to friends/family who see it.

I found this, hope it helps.
Important: This feature is only available in the US.

We managed to resolve this on ours. In the home app go to Account > Assistant settings > News > and remove all news sources. However, I think all connected accounts need to do this. I had tried this and it didn't work. It wasn't until my wife did it as well that we had removed from all accounts and the widget disappeared from 'My morning/evening'.
Yay! Cause I was just about to send the thing back 🐵

I tell a lie. It disappeared but has now returned. I really have heard enough about Will Smith at the oscars.

Oh man, that sucks! I just told my partner about the possible fix. I am 100% with you on Will Smith at the Oscars.... why, Google, WHY? 😣

I’m trying to remove the news display entirely but not working. I’ve removed all news sources but it still shows me awful sky news

Hi VictoriaSz,
I understand that this would be a helpful feature, but this option is not available. In line with this, we want to encourage you to send feedback from your end, and we’re hoping for all the possibilities by taking our users' feedback and suggestions. Let us know if you have additional questions; otherwise, we'll be locking the thread in 24 hours.
Kind regards,
Dan

Hey Jake. Thanks for the follow up. As it stands we're being told there's nothing that can be done. We're all just hanging for a future feature that will let us customise the models so we can turn off the awful news on a morning.

I don't even get any news (thankfully), my clock just gets interrupted at 18:02, 20:02 and 22:02, to show the stupid "Your Evening" page. I have no idea why, and I can't find any setting for it, and it is seriously pissing me off. It's supposed to be a clock until someone broadcasts a message, stop taking my focus away for something so meaningless as the "Your Evening" page.

I'm seriously pissed at Google. So much, I'm about to sell everything I have (and it's a lot) and move to Alexa. Seriously, it would be such a dumb fix just to turn off the "my evening" "feature" and they can't even get one freshman engineer on the cause! Not only that... I have noticed the assistant is getting dumber and dumber by the minute. It simply has not "evolved" its "intelligence" at all after many years.
