How to change accounts on nest hub

Razzie
Community Member

We have multiple nest audio speakers in the house and decided to get a hub display to help our teenager in his room to keep track of his calendar and other things.

We are set up as a family with me as the family manager. He has his own Google account with his own YouTube, calendar etc.

We set up the new hub display using his phone with the home app but it has defaulted to showing my calendar, my YouTube account, everything mine and not his.

How can we get it to show his stuff? They're doesn't seem to be a way to switch accounts

Voice match is set up for all of us and works perfectly on the speakers, recognising who we are and playing music from our own accounts.

The hub will play his music if he asks but it is still showing all my content on the screen and won't show his calendar entries

Please don't tell me to disconnect him from the family because then I'm pretty sure we won't be able to broadcast to the device and other things like that

Hi Razzie,

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I'm here to help you. A few questions: what country are you contacting us from? Is your child under 13? Were you able to add your kid as a home member? Also, did he set up a voice match? Check out the article below to know more about linking your child’s account to your Google Assistant devices.

Let your child use Google Assistant on your devices

Hi, I know exactly what the original person is asking. It has nothing to do with add child as family member. I'll explain. My son (16 years) has a nest hub in his bedroom. My son is part of Google family and has a voice match. He can talk to any google device at home and it will recognize him, including the nest hub in his bedroom. But the problem is, that what he goes to the screen of the nest hub and opens calendar, it opens my calendar. All of his google fit data which nest hub sends go to my Google fit account and not his and so on.

How do I assign this particular nest hub to my son's Google account so that it shows his calendar on the screen and sends for instance sleep data to his google fit account and not mine?

I am the manager of the Google family.

Thank you

Hi LaDolceVita,

Thanks for posting, and sorry for the delay. The only option is to set up your son’s Google Nest Hub under his account only. This means he needs to create a new home structure on his own so his calendar will show on the screen. To do that you need to factory reset your Google Nest Hub; this erases all your personalized settings and restores the factory default settings. It won’t automatically reconnect to WI-Fi, and you’ll need to set it up again. Check out the article below to know more about it.

Factory reset Google Nest or Home speakers or displays
