How to disable connection sound?

Hello, how can I disable the Nest connection sound?
It makes a very loud chime, always louder than the music I actually play, and it is very, very annoying and stressful whenever I connect to the Nest Speaker.

I really need to disable this chime sound.

Please note that I'm not asking about start/end beep sound of Google Assistance, which is fine for me.

I have disabled both "Play start sound" and "Play stop sound" slide bars in Google Home - Nest Speaker settings - Accessibility.

Could it be a bug?

Please see my YouTube video that describes the annoying sound that I want disable:

o disable the Nest connection sound, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Nest app on your device.
  2. Tap on the settings icon.
  3. Select "Home/Away Assist" or "Settings" depending on your app version.
  4. Scroll down and find the option for "Sounds."
  5. Toggle off the option for "Connection Sounds" or similar wording.

If you can't find this option in your app, refer to the Nest support documentation or contact their support team for further assistance.

Unfortunately, Nest app tells me to use Google Home app to control Nest Speaker. Are there different versions of Nest app?

I purchased Nest from Google product page, not Nest website.

Hi @dbdq!

I understand your frustration with the connection sound on your Nest speaker. It sounds like you've already taken some great troubleshooting steps, and I apologize for the confusion caused by the Nest app directing you to the Google Home app.

Here's the clarification:

There are no longer two separate apps for Nest and Google Home devices. Google has transitioned everything to the Google Home app. So, you're on the right track using that app to manage your Nest speaker settings.

Let's try to disable that connection sound:

  1. Double-check Accessibility Settings: Within the Google Home app, ensure "Play start sound" and "Play end sound" are still disabled for your Nest speaker in the Accessibility settings.

  2. Force Quit and Relaunch: Sometimes a fresh start helps. Completely close the Google Home app and relaunch it. This can clear any temporary glitches.

  3. Update the App: Outdated apps can have bugs that newer versions fix. Check for updates for the Google Home app in your device's app store. If it's an update lets try uninstalling and reinstalling the app again.

Best,

Brandon.

Thanks for the reply but it still didn't fix the issue. More importantly, "Play start sound" and "Play stop sound" both work correctly because they are the acknowledgement sound played after "hey Google".

What I'm talking about is the Nest connection sound, that happens when I connect my phone to the speaker. Please add an option to disable this connection sound. If you my posted video, you'll see that it's a different sound.
