How to fix default light level

RebekahL

I love ambient lighting and every thing auto goes on a full whack, like we’re about to do a full surgery.  Is there any way to fix lights at a default light percentage? Without hey google turn lights down bs. I want them set at their respectful preferences. Advise needed and appreciate  any help x

Hi RebekahL,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.

Good question, Let me help you. You can create a routine and add a starter like time, at sunrise or sunset etc., then add an action to adjust the light brightness to your own preference. Check the steps below for guidance.

1. Open the Google Home app .

2. Tap Routines tap Add .

3. Choose a type of Routine > Next.

  • For Personal Routines: Only the person who creates the Routine can use and edit the Routine. This type of Routine is best used to automate personal devices and services. For example, you can have Assistant inform you about upcoming meetings.

Note: Turn on personal results to get personal information like calendar events and commute information.
  •
  • For Household Routines: Eligible home members can create and edit Routines for their home. This type of Routine is best used to automate home devices that everyone in the home uses. For example, adjust the lights when the TV turns on.

4. Add at least one starter and one action.

5. If your Routine is set to start automatically and it includes audio actions, select the audio device:

  • At the bottom, tap No device for audio.
  • Select the device.
  • Tap Save.

6. At the bottom, tap Save.

Check this link for more information.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Juni
