Hi,

First let me describe my current situation. My father in law isn't very mobile due to a muscle disease. So after long searching and trail/error I finally managed to find a Samsung TV (together with Smart things) that works pretty decently together with a google mini speaker. He now manages to switch channels etc using voice commands.

Now I was wondering is there is a specific voice command to show the TV-guide on the TV itself? With the remote we just have to push the "guide" button and a menu pops up showing what is airing on the different channels. We tried different commands but can't make it happen. Smart things itself has the same button in their TV remote; and it is also called "guide". I am from Belgium and using Telenet as a TV provider.

I also know that google can open the TV guide on a website, but that's not what I want; it's a function built in the TV.

I hope my questions makes sense and you guys can help me out here 🙂

Greetings

Hello Thierry Martens,

Thank you for your message. I am glad to hear that your father in law has been able to switch channels through voice commands.

Regarding your question to show a TV guide, I would recommend you reaching out to Samsung, as you are asking about a built in TV feature, which we cannot control from the Google side.

Once again, thanks for reaching out. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Hi,

I am not sure if Samsung will be able to help me with this. The remote and their SmartLife app has a button to open the that feature; since google is able to access almost all the functions of the SmartLife app shouldn't that be available too? Or is it Samsung deciding which commands google can execute?
