Hub & Hub Max Microphone mute

How best to explain to my family/guests that when someone rings the wired Nest Doorbell, the Hub & Hub Max microphone controls are opposite from each other? On the Hub, the visitor hears your voice when this icon is on screen:

 BUT, when using the Hub Max, the visitor can hear you when the icon below is showing on screen:

 So, persons who have color deficient vision (color blind), or people looking at the icon itself must remember that on the Hub MAX the mic is ON when icon has a line through it- BUT, on the HUB the mic is ON when there is NO line through the icon.  Is there a reason these devices are not the same?
