Immediate pause or pulsing of streamed/casted sound/video

Hello, I have recently been having issues with all my Google devices. When asked to "sing a lullaby" or cast a YouTube video to an android enabled tv, the screen will show as if the music / video will play but it immediately pauses. If you try to push play yourself, it starts to play but immediately goes back to pause. If you hold down the play button it will pulse/ play. The only work around we have found is to restart our devices, which is OK from time to time but not daily. We have a brand new sony tv and two lenovo google clocks that are our primary source of issues. Any advice on fixing this issue would be great. Thanks!

I've had this issue for MONTHS on several of my google devices. I only discovered today that it is a known issue that occurs when you have a Nest cam streaming to a 1st generation Google Home Hub. Doing so pauses all media (to google devices only?) on the network. I've confirmed just now that pulling up my Nest cam on my 1st gen Hub pauses audio cast to my CC audio, then it unpauses immediately after I stop the stream.

Edit to add: The article I found on this says it's an issue with the Fuchsia OS that was pushed out to Hubs recently.

Same problem here — for months since the Fuchsia update. All media throughout the household sticks on pause whenever any Nest camera is being monitored by any v1 Nest hub in the home. This means that if you simply want to use Google’s cameras and hubs as advertised, your Google subscription media is incapacitated through the house. Google knows that their products/services are failing to deliver in the most basic way imaginable, but they really  don’t seem to care. Community Specialists dismissively closed out the topic to further comments. Customers who’ve been complaining about this every single day for months have been pretty much silenced.

Imagine my frustration at just learning this today after months of putting up with it. We have 3 Nest cams + doorbell, 3 v1 Hubs, 4 CCwGTV, 2 Shield TVs, a few Homes. We've been banging our heads over our media pausing. Unplugging devices, rebooting devices, restarting wifi. I thought it was caused by a firmware update on my mesh wifi system and I've been hounding their support about it. And Google's know about it the whole time!

Before they had the nerve to lock out the question and disable replies several weeks ago, I posted at this link:  https://support.google.com/googlenest/thread/115878590/why-does-media-on-my-google-products-indefini....

I commented that there were probably countless frustrated Google users  who have absolutely no idea why their subscription media is suddenly not working. Their silence on this really is disgusting. Google is asleep at the switch.

I can't believe they locked out commenting on the question and that was back in July!  How ridiculous.

I work from home so I commonly stream the Driveway camera in the basement and forget to turn it off when I'm done working.  So we've been struggling a lot.  I will try to remember to turn it off and hope that helps.  Fingers crossed...

Hey there,
So sorry for the late response, but I wanted to drop in here to help.

I understand that these issues can be confusing and frustrating but I definitely wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Just wanted to double check to see if you were still needing help on this? If so, what troubleshooting steps have you tried?

Please let me know.

Best regards,
Garrett DS

I've personally done a full factory reset (including a new SSID) on all devices (Hubs, minis, cameras, and network)

When I stream one of my Nest cameras on my Google Hub, it freezes playback on my Google TV (YouTube). Everything is running on a Google WiFi mesh network.  Basically I am trying to run a "baby monitor" while watching TV...this issue is really annoying, especially since I am running a 100% Google environment.

Same here. This known issue has persisted for many months with no action taken by Google. Viewing Nest cams on v1 hubs is impossible without halting all cast media in the home. Fully-invested Google customers with an assortment of Google devices and services in the home are the primary casualties of this screw-up.

Hey there,

I apologize about the late response, this is an issue that Google is aware of and the engineering team is working on it. There have been some reports that people are seeing the issue fixed, but I haven't received an official update on the issue. If you are still experiencing this issue, we ask that you re-create the issue, then submit feedback via Google Home with this as the description: CCT3 GTV Video pauses immediately.

I'm real sorry I don't have more information, but if you have any additional questions or concerns for me, please let me know.

Best regards,
Jeran
