I have 2 nest audio and 1 google home mini (gen 1) and whenever I try to type in a command to play music via the app, I get the following message:
“Sorry, I can't find the _______ speaker. Please make sure that that device is turned on and connected to the internet.
Reboots do not help and a reset of the devices only fixed it temporarily. All devices are connected to WiFi and accept voice commands without any problems.

Hi Martinezabner77,
Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing trouble with your Google Nest speakers not responding to typed commands in the Google Home app. I understand how frustrating that can be, and I'm here to help.
To help us troubleshoot effectively, could you please provide the following information:
What operating system and version is your phone or tablet running?
When you type the command, exactly where within the Google Home app are you entering it? (e.g., in the device's control screen, in a routine, etc.)
Does this issue occur with all music services you attempt to use (e.g., YouTube Music, Spotify, etc.)?
Are you able to control other functions of the speakers through the app, such as volume or pausing?
When did this issue begin occurring?
To be very specific, where in the Google Home app are you typing in the commands?
Please provide your responses to these questions. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you resolve this issue.
Regards,
Kevin

Hi kcruzgonzalez,
Thank you for reaching out. Please see responses below:
- The operating system of my device is iOS 18.3.2 and the Google Home app version is 3.30.106
- the command is typed in the“assistant” button on the “Favorites” tab
- I haven’t attempted trying other music services as I only have an Apple Music subscription.
- I am able to control volume and other features through the app via the “devices” tab, but not with through the assistant button
- This has been going on for about a month or two. It never was a problem before
- The commands are typed on the “assistant” button” on the “favorites” tab. What I type is “Play [artist, album, or song name] on ____ speaker.”

Hi Martinezabner77,
Thank you for your response. Let's work together for a solution.
Thanks for providing that information. It appears the issue is with the Google Assistant itself.
The Google Assistant is a separate application from the Google Home app and your Google devices. To ensure proper functionality, please verify that both the Google Assistant and Google Home apps are using the same Google account.
Also, please check the Google Assistant app's permissions and grant all requested access.
After that, try testing the Google Assistant with a different request, such as asking for news or information, instead of just music. This will help us determine if the issue is specific to music requests or a broader problem with the Assistant.
Let me know how it goes.
Regards,
Kevin

Hi kcruzgonzalez,
Confirming both the Google Assistant and Google Home app are using the same Google account and all permissions have been granted.
I attempted to ask my devices to tell me the news and that worked. I also asked it to tell me a joke and that also worked, just music seems to be the problem.
