Individuals not living at home can still cast to my home

EManU3LXX

To make a long story short, I recently moved out of a house where I had a host of Google products for different things. I moved to a new state and brought some of those devices with me, while the other individuals living with me stayed behind. I reset my entire Google home app, removing everyone from my home in the process, but I have a group of devices (actually one device in a group causing two devices to be casted to) that no matter what I do, continue to be casted to by people living in a completely different state and not part of my home. I have made sure my wifi name is different, reset devices, wiped Google Home and started over and no matter what, they always are able to access the speakers. What's going on?

This should not be possible...  What device is it that these outsiders are casting to?

The devices in the group are a Lenovo Smart Clock running cast version 1.56.285116 (it was in the preview program, it's waiting for the next firmware update to go back to stable) and a Google Home Mini running 1.56.282045.

  • It may be you still have them hooked up through an app like spottify try changing your passwords or log out from all devices on Spotify settings

I don't use Spotify, instead use YT Music, but they're not in any family group on any app. I have a couple video services connected to Home, but I don't get random things on the TV. I'm also the only person in my home at the moment. I've asked them to try to cast things, and it essentially goes like this; if they say "hey google, play post malone" it'll play in my house. If they say "hey google, play post malone on x device" it'll play in their own house.

Password has been changed since the move, and I don't share accounts with anyone. I'll try your logging out of all devices and will update.

Just an update for anyone who's having this issue. The other individuals account was still signed into the Chomecast. I had to track them down and have them log out of the devices. Once they did that, they weren't casting to my house anymore.
