Is Anyone Else Having Issues with Non-Google Speakers on the Google Home App?

Hi everyone,

I'm having some frustrating issues with connecting non-Google speakers to the Google Home app, and I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same problem or has any solutions.

Here’s what’s been happening: my Google Nest Mini works fine with the app, but I recently tried setting up speakers from another brand. Despite being new and out of the box, these speakers just won’t connect. It’s as if the app no longer recognizes any non-Google speakers.

What I’ve tried so far:

  1. I purchased speakers from a different brand to rule out issues with my original setup, but they had the same problem.
  2. I’ve checked my home network, which seems fine as it still supports the Nest Mini without any issues.
  3. The issues started after the most recent Google Home app update, so I suspect it could be related to the update itself.

I’m wondering if it’s possible to get access to an older version of the app to see if that would fix things. Has anyone found a workaround, or are you experiencing similar compatibility issues with non-Google devices?

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!
