Is Continued Conversation Broken?

I have had continued conversation turned on since it was released and it always worked great. We have a 2nd gen home hub in our kitchen. Recently, google seems to get really confused by ongoing conversations and keeps thinking it needs to respond and do something, even if that response has nothing at all to do with anything we say. It happens constantly. I finally had to turn off continued conversation because it became so disruptive.

Here is a typical example to demonstrate what I am talking about. I say "Hey google, what is the weather." Google then responds with the weather. Then my son says something about his car,  and google thinks it is a continued conversation and will say something like "Ok do you want to stream that to the TV or Kitchen display." And we have to tell google to stop doing whatever it is it thinks it needs to do. Sometimes continued conversation will randomly start playing music of steam a movie to our TV, or turn off lights because someone said "we need to make dinner" after issuing the first command to google. It is completely broken. I was spending so much time yelling at google to cancel some random thing it did, I finally have to turn off continued conversation.

Is there some way to fix this?

Hi winterwolfes,

Thanks for reaching out and letting us know about your Google Nest Hub 2nd gen concern. We'll work together to identify the cause of the problem and find a solution. A few questions: when did it begin? Were there any recent changes made? Also, what troubleshooting steps have you taken so far?

You can refresh your devices and observe if it makes a difference. First, reboot your Wi-Fi router, and once the network is back up, do the same thing to your Google Nest Hub 2nd gen.

Regards,

Juni
