Is Google Nest Hub doomed?

I'm really dissapointed with my purchase. I expected two simple things:

1. Month or week calendar displayed permanently. It only displays the day upon request and insists in saying it out loud when I request it only to be displayed.
2. Virtual assistant with a at least a basic AI interaction. It doesn't understand basic instructions, it interrupts when I am still talking and gesture reaction is very frustrating. I still haven't tried it with any accessories. I think I simply wont.

The App is extremely limited. I'm thinking of puting it away with mi 1990's stereo.

Will Google give it a software update that will make the Nest Hub Max worth keeping?
