Lights on mini constantly pulsing

richardtc007

Over the past 2 weeks I've noticed that the Google Home Minis  (5 of them) throughout my house frequently have four pulsing white lights. This is not the result of someone saying anything remotely close to "Hey Google" or "Ok Google" and it is not the result of an errant broadcast.

I've noticed that it even happens when I'm the only one home and haven't said a word.

I've done the whole unplug and reset routine. Why are they all suddenly listening???

Issue also resolved across my 3 mini's, 2 Audio's and 1 Home.  Well done Google Engineers but Google Customer Service / Communications teams; unreal indifference to what seems to us all like a serious issue.

Same firmware during pulsing light problem and today with issue fixed:

System firmware version: 356012

Cast firmware: 1.56.356012

Looks like Google has fixed this now as my Google Homes have all stopped blinking in the last few days.

just wanted to give an update, overnight about three days ago, it suddenly started working properly. No more pulsating lights and no more resetting the devices to get it to work.

That said, it still has a bug that cuts off the last few words that are spoken when broadcasting especially from my pixel 6 pro AND the visual display good device (first gen) is not picking up any of the broadcasts. I do still have the "continue to listen" option turned off and have not tested it with it on.

I found that notifications were set to on in the Google home app resulting in the home mini's to light up when certain notifications came to my phone.

Confirming that all of our Nest Hubs seem to now be working correctly after a Broadcast - awesome!  It took a while to get this update but definitely appears to have fixed what "bugged" our devices.  Family is happy, now!

How? Mine have been down for 2 weeks. I have rebooted I have unplugged I have reset. I've rebooted after unplugging. They're all on the same Wi-Fi network. I don't know what to do to get them back to doing what they were doing before. Whether playing my Spotify playlist or pausing a movie on my television.

I need help and I tried to click on the link that muddi posted and it just drugged me into a conversation and since you said you fixed yours maybe you can help me with mine? Every speaker is down. And tells me to try again in a few minutes

Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you even more if you're able to fix my speakers simple instructions to understand!

Kristy

Hello folks,

Thanks for posting.

@Bennyzgrrl, we're sorry to hear about this. Could you tell us the exact error message you're getting every time you use the speakers? Also, how many speakers are affected?

@LeGlobeTrotter, thanks for your tip! This might be helpful to others who also experience the same thing.

@Rexome, here's the link to check if your device is on recent update: Google speaker and display firmware versions and release notes

Let us know if you have additional questions.

Best,

Princess

This worked for me but I am not sure if this will solve your similar symptoms, I went into my Google Home and disabled all of my "Automations".  All my Google Homes or Minis  stopped the pulsating lights.  I haven't taken the time to troubleshoot if it's a specific automation or all of them but it was related to these automations.
