*WARNING* Microphone Icon is Inconsistent between Nest app & Website and Google Display

The microphone icon on Google display & hub is now showing the microphone with a strikethrough.

The Nest app and website shows, and has aways shown, the microphone without strikethough, on all platforms: Android IOS, or website on Windows. The Display /Hub also used to show the icon this way until a recent update. In the five years of owning Nest devices, this icon has always been used to indicate that you need to press it to speak, whereas the microphone with strikethrough has always been used to indicate you need to press it to mute the microphone.

The latest update to the Display / Hub however has inverted this use case, and since there is no longer any obvious animation that the microphone is active, this led to an embarrasing situation that a conversation was broadcasted from my office through my doorbell that was not intended for a public audience. Well done Google, always changing things for the sake of it to the detriment of the user.

Let this be a warning to others who mistakenly follow the original implementation of the icons. I reserve any optimisim that Google will do anything to fix this, continually annoying changes and poor speech recognition seem to be a hallmark of Google Assistant & Home products.
