Logically Separate Nest Hubs

mrdearing

I have 2 nest hubs in my home. One is in my office and the other is in my wife's office. What I'm finding is that the hub in my office is constantly showing me my wife's calendar on the display but I can get mine if I ask for it (presumably using voice match).

What I would love to be able to do is set my hub to only show my stuff by default and my wife's one to do the same on hers while having the devices exist on the same "Home"

This doesn't seem possible. Imagine a scenario where a parent sets themselves a calendar appointment to go and buy a Christmas present and a kid sees it just because the hub was sending a reminder. Surely there's a better way?

any suggestions out there aside from having the devices in their own "Homes"

Hi mrdearing,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

I appreciate all the details you've shared. If you happen to set up both speakers using your own account and have added your wife's account as a family member or vice versa, you most likely see the personal info of who set up your device. Since you have 2 Google Nest display set up in a different location in your house, I would recommend setting it up using 2 different accounts instead of adding the other account as a home member.

Let me know if this works for you.

Best,

Princess

Hi Princess,

That's what I want to avoid if possible. I want the nests to be part of the home. I know for example that the nest in my office was set up on my account and then I added it to my home which my wife is a member of. I see all of her reminders and very few of mine

Hope this makes sense

Hey there,

Thanks for your detailed explanation. If you specifically want your wife's calendar to appear, how about trying to share a calendar with you. Shared and Family Google Calendars (additional Google Calendars created by or shared with owners of the Google Accounts and voices linked to a speaker or display).

Add shared Google Calendars

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Tap your account.

Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to your Google device. If correct, tap to close the account window. To switch accounts, tap the dropdown icon , then tap another account or Add another account.

  1. Tap Assistant settings Calendar.
  2. Under “Your calendars,” the main Google Calendar associated with the Google Account and voice linked to your speaker or display is checked by default.
  3. Check the box next to other shared calendars you want to get events for.
  4. (Optional, English only) Under “Default calendar to create events,” choose the Google Calendar you want to add events to when you use voice commands. Note: Only shared calendars where you have "write" access will appear.

Keep me posted.

Best,

Princess
