Look and talk won’t work for child

The Nest Hub Max doesn’t recognise my son, I have retrained face and voice multiple times yet it doesn’t recognise him.  It does, however on the Hub and mini speaker.  
I have gone through everything multiple times, it works for me, it used to recognise his voice but doesn’t anymore.  Am I missing something?

We don't use either voice match or familiar faces.  My grandchildren just talk to our Nest Hub Max without them.

However, is Voice Match turned on for your Nest Hub Max?
