Making my cell number show when making calls using google home

Don

I am trying to made my cell number show on people's phones that I call using my google home speaker. I have tried following instruction found on google website using the Home app telling me to go to Services/Communication/Call Providers to edit or add my number. The problem is I do not have the option of editing or adding a number. Any help would be appreciated.

For some reason my previous reply did not show in this form: The following solution worked for me:

Temporarily set up your google home account on an android phone, which will allow you to add a phone number. The number will then show on the google home app on the iPhone. (You may need to refresh the iPhone app for the number to show. When you are done, delete the account from the android.

Hi Don,

Make sure your Google Home app is up to date. Possibly reinstall the app. If that doesn't help can you let us know your region and language settings?

Thanks!

I have done what you suggested multiple times and have followed the information on google's website as well. The funny thing is, I set our Google Home Speaker to work with my wife's phone within 5-minutes with everything working properly.  My problem in trying to set one up on my neighbor's iphone to her Google Home Speaker is her phone app will allow my to add her phone number. I tap on phone number area and nothing happens. I tried resetting the Google Home Speaker as well as unplugged it and plugging it in again. I have deleted and reinstalled her Google Home app on her iphone multiple times and still have the same issue.

Thanks for helping!

Okay, good info and thanks!

Are you helping the neighbor get set up using all their google accounts? Triple check that the account in the Google Home app matches their google account.

I do think some others here in the community have experienced this though.

Yes I am helping my neighbor who is elderly lives by herself and falls frequently. Her being able to make calls using her Google Home speaker would be perfect if only I could figure out how to make her "carrier" phone number appear on caller id. The accounts do match up. Her carrier is Metro PCS through T-Mobile.

Honestly I am not sure why you can't set it up and use her phone. Does the verification text come through to her phone?

You may want to factory reset the device. Don't use your phone for any of the set up steps and see if you can't get it working.

When exactly does the verification text come during the setup process? Could there be something stopping this text?

It's been a while since I set up calling. I am checking on the verification...I may be incorrect. I thought there was a verification code sent but that may have been only for Duo calls. I'll update...

In the meantime---try setting up calling with this Google-supported see: Make Google-supported calls with your speaker or display - Android - Google Nest Help in those steps there is the option to show the caller id. Be sure her phone is updated with the Google Home app and the Google app.
