So i seemingly, foolishly migrated my nest hub max to google home.  Display works ok however i can not activate the camera.
I go into my display and hit the setup nest cam button. Go through setup, it joins wifi and then i get an error “Request Failed”.

ive tried to setup to to different network routers with different SSIDs and all i can get is the display to work but not the counter :/.

any suggestions?   Updated ios app, rebooted phone, rebooted hub max, factory defaulted hub max…

Hi CruisingCanuck,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble setting up your Nest Cam after migrating your Nest Hub Max to the Google Home app. Let's work together for a solution.

For your concern, please try the below steps:

  • Remove the Nest Hub Max: Remove the Nest Hub Max from its current home structure within the Google Home app.
  • Factory Reset: Factory reset the Nest Hub Max.
  • Create a New Home: Create a new home structure within the Google Home app.
  • Set Up: Set up the Nest Hub Max and its built-in Nest Cam within this new home structure.
  • If the issue is the same
  • Enable Diagnostics:

    • Turn on device usage data and crash reports: This will help Google collect information that may be helpful in diagnosing the issue.

Let me know how it goes and keep me posted.

Regards,

Kevin
