I’ve loved having my google nest. Really loved it. But I do have one issue, and it honestly ruins a lot of the experience of owning this thing. And that issue is with the morning alarm that plays music. I love music, so waking up to my favorite song is really great. BUT. Google will not wake me up with the song. No, it wakes me up with either an alarm (and when I tell it to stop it plays the music) or by announcing the song—as in ‘okay, playing xyz song!’. This annoys me. I just want to wake up to music, not an alarm or the automated voice telling me what song is going to play. Additionally, when setting up the alarm, instead of having me, y’know, go into Spotify and selecting the song so it knows EXACTLY WHAT SONG TO PLAY, it has me write out what would essentially be the voice command to play the song. And you’d think this’d work, right? NOPE. It only plays the specific song I want some of the time (I write the title and the artist. It doesn’t help. Neither does adding the album name). I just want it to be so you add in the Spotify link or something so it plays the exact song. Spotify is already linked, so the fact that it doesn’t do this really annoys me. I wish that you could, you know, go into Spotify and select the song and google just plays THAT as opposed to writing the song and artist and hoping google doesn’t mess up. And it SHOULDN’T mess up, considering it’s being written out. With the exact correct spelling. I try to put the song in a playlist. I write ‘play xyz playlist’. It plays a random song with a title vaguely similar to the playlist name. If google could figure out a way to make it so google DOESNT play an alarm before the song and DOESNT announce the song before it plays, as well as make it so the song I want actually plays every time, that’d be great. And if I sound pissed, I am. This honestly has been getting on my nerves for so long and even though it doesn’t seem to be a big deal, it is for me.
If anyone knows any way to make sure google JUST plays the song and not any alarm or automated voice, as well as increase google’s accuracy in that regard please tell me because I am so fed up and tired of this. Thanks.
