Morning routine News stops playing

My good morning routine.

My good morning routine includes several things and then ends with reading the news.

Up until a couple of months ago, it did so without issue.

Now it will just stop part-way through a news segment, or only play 3 or 4 and then stop. 
I have a good hours worth on there to listen to while I get ready in the mornings, so it’s starting to tick me off, to have to jump out of the shower and yell at it to read the news.

And even then, it never resumes at where it left off.

Is this a common bug that others have had a problem with?


It’s a fairly new one for me. But it’s annoying that it can’t complete one of its most basic tasks.

Hi Mary73,

 

This is not the experience we want you to have; let me help you. A few questions: which Nest speakers are we working with? When did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes made? Did you receive an error message notification or verbal response from the Assistant-enabled device on which the action failed?

 

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first: 

 

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router, followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

 

If the issue persists, kindly remove/delete the routine and recreate a new one, with different actions and tell us how it goes.
