Just moved a Nest Hub (2nd Gen) to a new room location within the same household.
Was able to give it a new device name but unable to change the room location in the Google Home app running on my Pixel 6 Pro (Android 13).
Home app is Version 2.58.35.3.
Previous posts on this issue have suggested removing the device completely from the Home app and doing a factory reset, but this seems absurdly extreme for a simple change.

Hi @stojon
If the app won't let you move the Hub to a different location, there is not much more that we can suggest as a workaround.
Sorry I am not much more of a help. 🙂

Thanks.
That did the trick.
Hopefully the Google Home team are working hard to fix this, but the problem appears to have been around for some time now.

It is "absurdly extreme for a simple change" but Google Nest hasn't fixed the bug that causes this. Months ago, we had to remove, factory reset, and reinstall our Nest Hub Max just to move it to a new "room".

Yep - same experience in the end.
I'm a reasonable tech-savvy user, but this completely fails the "average user" test.
Hopefully the Google Home team will fix soon.

Hi folks,
@RXShorty and @MplsCustomer thanks for all the help.
@stojon, I’m glad that worked for you. It looks like we can consider this one complete, so I will lock the thread shortly unless I can help out with anything else.
Thanks,
Juni
