Music keeps lowering to 40%

Whenever I play music, for some odd reason, my Google Home just keeps lowering it to 40 percent...  I tried plugging it in and out and resetting but it keeps doing it... What's up with that?

Hi Bootyshaker9000,

Thanks for trying the steps above. Let's go ahead and perform a complete reset to your Google Home and let's see if it will change its behavior as soon as it is completely set up.

Keep me posted.

Hey Bootyshaker9000,

Sorry to hear about your Google Home device, but thanks for bringing this up. A few questions: when did the issue start? Is it plug in directly to the power outlet? Are you using the original power adapter that came with the device? Does it happen on all songs or other music providers? Are there other features affected? When and where did you purchase your speaker?

Looking forward to your response.

Cheers,

Muddi

Yes, I am using the power adapter that came with the device, which is plugged into a power strip, really.  And it's been happening when I use any audio.  I got the thing last year from Best Buy... and I don't know how to fix it!

Hey Bootyshaker9000,

I wanted to jump in, and see if I could be of any help. I know having the volume lower when listening is not an ideal situation. I did find a couple troubleshooting steps that could be of help.

  1. Make sure that the mobile device is linked to the same account as the Google Nest or Home device.
  2. Open the Google Home app.
  3. In Home View tap the device card for the speaker or display to adjust the volume for.
  4. At the top-right, tap Settings, then Audio.
  5. Tap the checkbox or slide the slider off to toggle Lower volume when listening.

Please let me know if that help, or if you are still running into the issue from here.

Best regards
Jake

Hey Jake,

I've turned that option off a while, but it still does that...
