My Google Nest doesn’t show my WiFi during set up

I bought my Google Nest mini two weeks ago and I still couldn’t use it. During set up when I’m asked to pick the Home WiFi (where my phone and other devices are connected) I’m using, it doesn’t show any option to choose the WiFi I have at home. It doesn’t find my WiFi. I’ve done resetting the router and Google Nest device but still doesn’t fix the problem. Please help!

@marcpajerlan

Do you by any chance have a hidden SSID (network name) on your Wi-Fi network? If so, are you able to select "Other Wi-Fi network ..." and then enter your SSID?

Hi! I don’t have any hidden SSID in my WiFi network. I’ve also tried resetting the credentials of my WiFi and still wouldn’t work.

Even though your Nest Mini is brand-new, you could try doing a factory reset (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7073477).

If that doesn't work, you could try contacting Support, using the link and instructions in this post in this forum:

Hi everyone,

marcpajerlan, I wanted to follow up and see if you still need help. Did you try to reset your Google Nest Mini? How’s it?

We appreciate the help, MpIsCustomer.

Alex

Hi there! I’ve done all the possible troubleshooting but it still doesn’t show my home WiFi connection and I can’t fully set it up. This is frustrating.

Hi marcpajerlan,

I know how it feels when something isn’t working the way it should. Let’s further look into it. Let’s try these steps:

  • Reboot your router.
  • Forget and reconnect your phone to the WiFi.
  • Uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app.
  • Try to do the set up again. If the issue persists;
  • Use a different setup device (if there’s any). If it’s still the same;
  • Set up Google Nest Mini on a temporary Hotspot. You need to have 2 setup devices for this.
    • The first phone will behave as the router. Turn on its data connection and hotspot.
    • Factory reset Google Nest Mini once more.
    • Connect the second phone/tablet to the hotspot > Proceed with the set up.
    • Finish the setup by connecting Google Nest Mini to the hotspot network.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,
Alex
