My Nest is stuck with a gray screen and a G. Is there anything I can do to get it going?

Happening to my google nest hub as well, I just moved it to another location and when I plugged it back it is just showing a gray G screen. Tried to hard reset,  change outlet with no dice. what is going on? 

Same here. Woke up yesterday to Nest hub blank screen. UNplugged/REplugged, got grey "G" screen, then four colored dots followed by the bootup tones, then the color "G" screen. But it sticks there for 30 seconds and then goes dead (blank screen). I tried multiple times to do factory reset (holding vol up and down) but Hub will not reset. If you run into this problem and find a solution, please post. I will do the same.

Have you tried the following: 

1. use another outlet

2. factory reset your device? unplug it , press the volume button and plug it back in, a message will pop up and wait for the countdown to complete. Do not release the button until the countdown completes. 

 

Good that your device is still showing the colored dots mine just show a gray screen with the G logo and nothing happens. If you tried both and still get the G logo or black screen, I suggest you contact Google support and see what your options are. I am shipping mine back today and they will provide me a replacement.

I posted something to try a month ago in this thread, have you tried it? Posting it again below.

Have you tried the following: 

1. Uplug and use another outlet

2. Factory reset your device? Unplug it , press the volume button and plug it back in, a message will pop up and wait for the countdown to complete. Do not release the button until the countdown completes. 

Mine just show a grey screen with the G logo and nothing happens. If you tried both options and still get the G logo or black screen, I suggest you contact Google support (via chat) and see what your options are. G support will walk you through the same option I gave above and will ask you to take a video and sent it to them via email so make sure you are on a desktop/laptop when doing the chat so you can have your phone handy to capture video and pictures to send the email. Anyways, G support provided me with the instructions on how to send it back and have received the replacement.

I’ve done these steps and mine is stuck as well on a gray reboot screen with the Google “G” stuck on the screen. How did everyone fix???

Same issue. Put into recovery mode and reset. NO joy.

Is there a fix for this?????

I suspect that after recovery and factory reset, it's impossible to fix it, as the device is not connected to a network anymore. 😞

@User123456  should provide a solution for it.

Yeah I agree, it's best to quickly do the RMA to avoid the disruption.

My device it stuck on a grey "G" screen. Tried several troubleshooting ideas... no luck. They need to fix this.

I have tried the factory reset, have left it unplugged overnight, and have moved it to different outlets.  No luck.

Hi guys, just contact Google support to see it can be replaced. I did it and I will receive a new one. Good luck!

Where did you contact? I’ve had no luck locating where or who to contact.

I don't recall. Try to find Google Nest support on Google. I asked for help by chat and they called me later to validade.

Nest screen stuck in the gray startup with the G. Reboot does not work. Please help with replacement.

It was not fixable, but they sent a replacement.
