My google nest mini and google home wont connect to my internet

I am having a hard time connecting my google nest mini to my internet. I tried restarting and factory restarting. creating new home, forgetting the internet. I wont work. I've been trying for months. my internet provider said that they use a specific DNS they said that I should change my device's DNS but I think nest mini and google home mini doesn't allow that. what should i do?

A few questions: is it the first time you're setting up your Google Nest Mini and Google Home Mini devices? Also, what's the exact message you're getting when connecting it to your network? 

 

Give these steps a try:

 

  1. Make sure your Google Home app is updated. 
  2. Check router settings. (AP isolation must be disabled and UPnP must be enabled). 
  3. If you're using an iOS, turn on Local network access for the Google Home app. Here's how: Privacy > Local Network > Google Home app. 
  4. Use a mobile hotspot to set up your devices (To isolate the issue).

It says there's a problem connecting to the device

its working on a hot spot on my other phone but not on my home internet

Hey zyehj,

 

Since it connects with a mobile hotspot, there might be some settings that are blocking your Google Nest Mini and Google Home to communicate with your network properly. You can check this settings with your ISP/router manufacturer to make sure you're router is configured properly.
