Unplugging didn’t work, neither did leaving it a day or so

Hi Franks Marriott,

Thank you for your post. Oh no! A cracking sound definitely sounds annoying. Let's look into this pesky issue and find a solution together. First, I have some questions to get a better understanding of this situation:
  • What exact device is this post in regard to? (model name, generation number)
  • Is this a new issue? Was your device playing sound with a cracking noise before?
  • Does this happen with all audio? From commands to music? 
  • Does this only happen with a certain type of media that you are trying to play?
  • Does your device power on and work normally besides this issue?
  • Have you tried to do a reboot and a Factory Data Reset
    • A factory reset will reset your Google Nest or Home speaker or display to its default factory settings.
      Note: This action will clear your data from the device and can't be undone.
