Nest Display not working

Used the unit for a few months, then left it unplugged for 3 months.  When I plugged it back in, the display doesn't work.  I've manually reset it, no change.  Audio functions work, but just a black screen.  Search through other posts, and apparently a lot of people have this same issue, but didn't see where any  received resolution.
