I have a NEST doorbell and several Google assistants throughout home. When Next doorbell is pressed, I get alert on my phone and it used to notify on the Google assistants so no mater where we were in house, we knew when someone was at front door. The notification settings have not changed. Devices all on same network, using nest home app, all have proper notifications setup both in Google Home App (and on native Nest App). The notifications just stopped on all Google Assistants (but phone still gets them). It used to announce "someone at front door" on all the assistants. I've looked online, read the support phones but nobody has posted this (just more general how to turn on notifications) which I've done of course. Ideas are welcome.

This has happened to me as well.

Do you have "Do Not Disturb" turned off on your Nest Hubs, Nest Minis, and Nest speakers? Do you have the "Visitor announcements" option turned on for your doorbell? Are all your Google Nest devices in the same Google Nest "home/structure"?

Thanks for the reply!
No DND are on (I confirmed all switches on back are to the on position
Yes, all are part of the same home
Visitor announcements are turned on for Doorbell (both confirmed in Nest native app
Any other ideas?

I'm just another Google Nest customer and don't have any other ideas as to why "Visitor announcements" would suddenly quit working on all of your devices.

Hi folks,
@MplsCustomer, thanks for the help.
@gillettorg and @Barcalaxy, thanks for posting. I know how it feels when something isn’t working as it should, so let’s get this resolved. You need to turn off the do not disturb so your Nest speakers/ displays can receive notifications when someone rings your doorbell. To turn that off you can say “Hey Google” then “Turn off do not disturb.
Check this helpful link for more information.
Hope this helps.

Juni

Is this happening with the new 2nd Gen Google Nest Doorbell, the new Google Nest Doorbell (Battery), or the older Google Nest Hello Doorbell? We have Nest Hello Doorbells and they are still sending visitor announcements.

Hey there,
Thanks for the continuous support, MplsCustomer!
gillettorg, could you tell us what type of Nest Doorbell and Google Assistant device you have?
Regards,
Alex

Yes, still having the issues:
I have Nest Doorbell (WIRED) a Nest Hub (Kitchen) and three Nest Assistant (1 large, two minis) all bought form Google directly in 2022, so new versions.

I'm just another Google Nest customer. This is strange. All I can think of is to try turning "Visitor announcements" off, then test the doorbell, and then turn it back on. Are you able to watch your doorbell's camera on your Nest Hub Max?
01-01-2023 03:51 PM
Yes, I can see and view video on nest doorbell and it alerts my phone (and my wife) when someone rings it. It just stopped alerting all NEST assistants. So strange indeed.

Hi gillettorg,
Thank you for doing the steps provided. It would seem we need to isolate this since DnD is off, Visitor Announcement's enabled and you're able to do live view. We now need to factory reset one of your Nest speakers, preferably your Nest Mini, to revert it back to its default and original settings. Here's how. Re-do the setup and make sure all devices are on the same Wi-Fi network. If you have a dual band frequency, choose between the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz where your Nest Doorbell is.
Tell us how it goes.
Best,
Dan

Ok, I took two of the Google assistants out and did a factory reset of them. Set them back up in the home app and made sure all setup, but still not working. I was going to try and reboot the NEST doorbell, is the only way to do that the physical tool to unlock it, is there any way to reboot next from either HOME or NEST app?

I also just took nest doorbell off, did a factory reset and rejoined it to the wifi and same issue.

Hey gillettorg,
To confirm, are they set up in one home structure? Are you using a dual-band router? Also, what is the current firmware version of your Google Nest Hub and Nest speakers?
Cheers,
Muddi
