Nest Hub 2 - IP setting option?

SteveTu

Currently it appears that the nest hub2 uses DHCP to pick up its IP. I would like to assign my own IP - is there a way to do it? Checking various online messages (like this https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7571856?hl=en-GB) it implies that the Google Home app should have an optioin to do this, but I don't see a 'WiFi' option from within the Google Home app. Where in the Home app is this setting - or is there an option from the nest hub screens (ie like setting the alarms)?

The article you linked to only applies to Google Wifi and Nest Wifi (devices that provide the Wifi, not connect to it).

There is no feature or setting to use a static IP on Nest Hub unfortunately. If you want to keep the same IP for it, you could reserve that IP on your router so it can’t be issued to another device.

OK - I had already gone down the route of reserving the IP on my router.

Hey there,

Thanks for the help, davidking!

SteveTu, to confirm, is everything up and running on your end. We’re always trying to improve our user’s experience, but at this moment, we don't have a way to assign an IP using the Google Home app. Let us know if you have other questions or concerns otherwise, we'll lock this thread after 24 hours.

Best,

Alex
