Nest Hub 2nd Generation no longer recording Sleep Sensing Data

Hi;

About 2 weeks ago now, my Nest Hub 2nd Gen stopped recording my sleep data.
When I ask it "How did I sleep?", it reports that no sleep data has been recorded.

I have recalibrated the device numerous times, and last night, I even performed a complete Factory Reset on it and set it up again from scratch, including calibrating sleep sensing.

Yet this morning, the same thing.

Have Google broken something in an update?

Hi Mungrul,

Thanks for reaching out to our community.

I'm sorry to learn that your Google Nest Hub (2nd gen) has not been recording your sleep data for the past two weeks. I really appreciate the troubleshooting efforts you have tried, including recalibration of the device and even a factory reset, but the inconvenience persists. Don't worry, we'll work through this together.

To help me understand what might be happening, could you please provide a bit more information by answering the following questions?

  • Is your Google Home app up to date?
  • What is the current firmware version of your Google Nest Hub (2nd gen)? You can find this by following the steps in this Google Help Center article: Google speaker and display firmware versions and release notes
  • Is your Google Nest Hub (2nd gen) connected to the correct Google Account, and is that the same account linked to your Google Fit app (if you use it)?
  • Have there been any recent changes to your WiFi network or home environment?
  • Are Personal results turned on for your Nest Hub?
  • Are there any new objects, new moving objects like a fan or swaying curtains, pets, or other people in the room that could interfere between you and the display screen?
  • Is your sleep summary available on your Google Nest Hub (2nd gen) display, or only in the Google Fit app?
  • Do your Sleep Sensing cards appear on the Google Nest Hub (2nd gen) display?
  • Is your Google Nest Hub (2nd gen) recording any snores and coughs?
  • What is the height distance between your mattress and the Google Nest Hub (2nd gen)?
  • Is your Google Nest Hub (2nd gen) oriented towards your torso when you are lying in bed?

In the meantime, please confirm that Sleep Sensing is still enabled in both the Google Home app and on your Google Nest Hub (2nd gen) itself. Here's how to check:

  • On your Google Nest Hub (2nd gen):
    • Swipe up from the bottom, tap "Settings," then go to "Sleep Sensing" and make sure it's toggled on.
  • In the Google Home app:
    • Tap "Favorites" or "Devices," then tap and hold your Google Nest Hub (2nd gen) tile.
    • Select "Settings," then go to "Sleep Sensing" and check that it's turned on.

Thanks for your patience; I'll be looking forward to your reply so we can get this resolved!

Sincerely,

Virna
