Nest Hub Gen 2 Proactively Display Calendar Banners

Hello,

I am slightly tearing my hair out to get this to work.  I’ve turned all the right settings on, and banner notifications will not appear on my Nest Hub Max gen 2.

I want calendar appointments to appear as a banner on the slideshow on the google home hub.  Also birthdays don’t display either.

I have show personal results on, I’ve tried it with and without face match on, but it never shows anything.

Any advice/suggestions appreciated.

Hi Smudgechris,

That certainly hasn’t been easy for you. Let’s further look into it. Do you have home members in your home structure? If yes, does Google Nest Hub Max show their personalized content? If not, let’s troubleshoot your Google Nest Hub Max.

  • Open the Google Home app > Devices > Tap on Google Nest Hub Max > Settings > Recognition and sharing > Personal results > Camera sensing. Toggle it off and on.
  • Go back to the home view of the app > Settings > Google Assistant > Face Match > Teach your assistant your face again. Face Match works best if Google Nest Hub Max has a clear view of your face.
Note: The best way to get a clear view is to minimize lights at the back and make sure that your face is properly lit. If the lights behind you are too bright, it can wash out the camera or cast a dark shadow on your face.
  • Reboot Google Nest Hub Max.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Alex
