Nest Hub Max Camera Goes Offline within 3 days

Over the last month or so my Google Nest Hub Max live camera view works for approximately 3 days then goes offline.  The Hub has good signal to Wi-Fi.  Its in the center of my home approximately 35 feet from router.  I also have a google Nest Doorbell and that seems to be rock solid.

  • When camera is offline and I am home, I can still ask the Google Hub for Weather, Time, Stream XM radio, Recipes and it works just fine so I  know the hub has internet access so why does the camera appear offline?
  • If I unplug and reboot the Google Hub Max of course then the camera will stream but usually after 3 days it goes back offline.  I do notice though when it does go offline it must be around 10 pm my bedtime because the last known motion events it recorded was around that time.
  • If I am at work the Google Nest app will show my Hub Max Camera Offline but my Nest Doorbell is streaming fine.  If I then go into the Google Home app it does show the Nest Hub camera offline but I can still get at the Nest Hub and there is an option to Reboot it and If I do the reboot remotely within a minute or two the display is now functioning, so if I can get at it with Google Home and reboot it why does the camera not seem to work when it clearly has internet access, I am sure they both share same Wi-Fi source and channel to my router.

I am having the same issue with my hub max. I have 2 nest cameras outside (battery) that work just fine, and a doorbell nest (battery) with no issues. But for some reason my Hub Max randomly goes offline and I can't connect the camera. My hub max if literally next to my wifi. This is really disappointing. I've noticed this is an issue they haven't fixed and they keep locking forums even after they don't post a solution. Terrible support forum. This needs to be fixed yesterday.

I noticed when Nest or Google Home app states the Hub Max Camera is offline,  if I am home physically looking at the Hub Max Display while trying to view the camera via the apps I will see it pop up on max display stating "Camera is being Viewed" and the LED illuminates but yet the app shows camera to be offline.  So apparently the app is asking the Hub Max to stream the video because the Hub Max is telling me the camera is being accessed.

Hey folks,

Thanks for bringing this up. I know how important it is to be able to stream the built-in camera of the Google Nest Hub Max. This seems to be related to the recent issue that happened with the Nest Hub Max but should be resolved now. Please try resetting your device by following the steps below:

  1. Save important footage from the device’s video history.
  2. Make sure the device is plugged into a tested and functional power source.
  3. Remove the device from the Google Home app.
  4. Reset the device by pressing and holding both volume buttons together, at the back of the Nest Hub Max, for about 10 seconds. You'll hear your Google Assistant confirm that it's resetting the Nest Hub.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi

Hi everyone,

Just one quick final follow up since activity has slowed down. We'll be locking the thread in the next 24 hours, but if you still need help, I would be happy to keep it open. If there's more we can do, just let me know.

Best,

Princess
