Nest Hub Max Says Another Home/Account Con

Hi all,

I recently moved and brought my Nest Hub Max with me. It is saying, after connecting to wifi, that it is already connected to another home/account and won’t let me set up. I’ve already tried factory resetting as well as doing the plug in/unplug 11 total times. It still isn’t working. I’m incredibly frustrated as there is no way to set up this device other than that and it’s unusable. Please help.

Hi cltgaston,

That certainly hasn’t been easy for you and we appreciate that you’ve already tried doing the troubleshooting steps. To further out troubleshoot, kindly try these steps:

Remove all devices from the old home structure if applicable.

  1. In the Google Home app home screen, touch and hold the device's tile.
  2. Tap Settings > Remove device > Remove.
  3. Repeat this step for all devices.

Create a new home structure.

  1. In the Google Home app home screen, tap Add +.
  2. Select Create new home.

Delete the old home structure.

  1. In the Google Home app home screen, tap the arrow icon to switch between home structures > choose the old home structure.
  2. Select Settings > Delete this home > Delete.

Add the Nest Hub Max to the new home structure.

  1. Factory reset the Nest Hub Max.
  2. Set up the Nest Hub Max device > set up the built-in camera.
  3. Add your remaining devices to the new home structure.

You can open the links that are highlighted for more in depth information about the steps to take.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Dan
