Nest Hub Max camera offline after multiple factory resets and setup.  This seems to be happening to numerous people randomly.  Its only a few months old.

I'm having the same issue, multiple factory resets! I have tried everything, selected every option. it detects when I walk in front of it. "Display isn't available right now" how can we get support on this? I have other google cams that work on it just fine. The Home app camera settings "Home monitoring features" when turned on automatically will switch itself back off immediately. frustrated!  please post if you find a solution.

Hey folks,

Thanks for sharing details about this issue here, and apologize that you have to go through with this issue on your Nest Hub Max camera.

A few questions:

  • Did the camera work before?
  • Are you able to stream the camera from the Google Nest app?
  • Is there any error message from the Nest display, Home app, or Nest app whenever the you tries to stream the camera?
  • Is the home monitoring feature turned on from the camera settings on the Google Home app? Check if the option automatically goes off when enabled.
  • Does a solid green light display on the device whenever you tries to view the camera or a green light blinks when the customer streams stream it from the Home app or Nest app?
  • Are you able to use the camera on Duo video calls?

Please try these steps below that may help us fix the issue:

  1. Remove the device from the old Home.
    1. Open the Google Home app.
    2. Tap the device > Settings > Unlink or Remove device > Unlink or Remove.
  2. Perform a factory reset on Nest Hub Max. To do this, hold the volume up and volume down buttons for 10 seconds.
  3. Set up your Google Nest Hub Max on a new home structure.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi

I tried that several times... turns out I added 2 hub cameras prior to getting the MAX hub. The hub likes to be setup first before you add other cams.  I had to create a new home and start over and move all my other devices to the new home... but now I have lost my link to nest aware account, seems the cams are tied to the old Home name.

Hey ostenzel,

Thanks for the update. I'm glad to know that your Nest Hub Max camera is now working. The Nest Aware subscription is tied up to a home structure. I suggest that you contact Nest support so they can transfer your Nest Aware subscription to the new home structure.

If you have other concerns about your Google Nest Hub Max, please do not hesitate to update this thread, and we're happy to assist you.

Regards,

Muddi
