Nest Hub Max "Check Internet Connection" - tried _everything_!

Went on vacation for a couple of weeks and came home to this message on my Next Hub Max.  I have read just about every post on this subject, and tried everything.  I was able to reinstall the device using my phone as a hotspot, so clearly the Wi-Fi on the Hub is working.  I have many other Google devices on my home network and they are all working fine: a TV, 2 Nest thermostats, 4 mini speakers, 4 larger speakers, etc.  Oh, and I have a Google Pixel  8+phone.  The wifi is provided by two Google mesh routers.  I guess you could say I've really drunk the Google Kool-aid.  So, I think that should rate some help from you guys, right?  The Hub simply refuses to connect to my Wi-Fi network which it has been working with fine for about 5 years.  If have made no changes to my network.  I can't even get any information out of the device about it's firmware version, etc. because it won't connect.  Pretty frustrating, Google.

Figured it out.  Apparently when I removed the devices from the Home app, or maybe when I tried to reinstall them, they were out into the "Paused" state.  I figured this out by looking at my Wifi network in the Home app and selecting the "Devices" button.  This showed me my devices despite the fact they weren't i stalled in Home,  and I could test their network speed even though they were in the "Paused" state.  Anyway, the device details allowed me to un-Pause the devices, and like magic then I could install them.  Now why were they Paused?  And why wasn't Home smart enough to un-Pause them when I was trying to install them?  Sounds like a bug to me.  And it shouldn't be too hard to fix, right? And it would save a lot of people a lot of hassle.  Wake up Google.

I discovered that this problem is affecting my Google Home Max speakers, which were paired with my Hub.  So I removed the speakers from the Home app, and factory reset them, and unplugged them, and plugged one back in and tried to reinstall it.  Didn't work.  So I unplugged that one and plugged the other one in and tried to install it.  Didn't work.  I'm getting the feeling that I'm going to have to start from scratch -- uninstall all my devices, including my router from Home, factory reset everything, uninstall the Home app, then reinstall Home, and one at a time start re-installing things.  I really don't want to do this.  I especially don't want to uninstall my thermostats.  I'm afraid if I uninstall them I won't be able to reinstall them, and then I won't have any heat in the house -- and that will really p*ss me off.  So Google _please_ help me.
