Nest Hub Max stuck on "Link Account" screen.

Tried this with 2 different phones, have factory reset multiple times, etc. Nest Hub Max is connected to my Wi-Fi network (Eero) but can't be added to the Google home app.

If I start from factory reset, it just hangs forever on "Connecting to Wi-Fi" on the phone. If I try to add it from the Nest home app, once the Hub Max is online, clicking the plus in the home app, selecting Display as the device type, it just goes back to the Device type screen after a few seconds.

I have a lot of Nest stuff, Chromecasts etc. And have never had issues like this. Thanks

Hi Daveh3

Thanks for posting in the community!

I'm so sorry to hear that your Nest Hub Max is not connecting to your WiFi network. No worries; I'm here to help! Just to get started, I have a couple of questions that will help me provide you with the best troubleshooting steps! Can you help me answer the next questions?

  • Can you see an error message when trying to connect the device to WiFi, or does it stay in "Can't connect to WiFi?
  • Are you able to find your WiFi network and other networks when setting up the device?
  • What is the firmware version of your device?
  • Are there other Google Nest displays set up and working in the home?

In the meantime, if you have more questions for me, feel free to reply to this post. I'll be happy to assist further!

Best regards,

Nery.

The Nest Hub Max is connected to Wi-Fi , but it cannot be added to the Home app.

There are multiple cameras, Chromecasts, speakers and a thermostat as already connected to the home app, but no displays.

I have tried adding it with Pixel 7 and iPhone, both were connected to same Error Wi-Fi

Hi Daveh3

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!

Just to clarify the next information:

  • Has your Nest Hub Max ever been successfully connected to your Google Home app before?
  • Is it happening intermittently?
  • Have you tried to set up the device using a mobile hotspot?
  • When setting up the device, were you able to locate your WiFi network and other networks?
  • What is the firmware version of your device?

Your answers will help me provide the most effective troubleshooting steps. If you have more questions for me, feel free to reply to this post. I'll be happy to assist further!

Best regards,

Nery.
