OIs it possible to rest the THREAD Nest-Pan id? NO matter device will connect to my Nest Hub 2nd gen they get detected, connects to device starts the process then "Cannot connect to the Thread Network" even with the latest nest hub firmware I cannot add? Can this be fixed or do I need a new working Replacement nest Hub 2nd gen?

I've just downloaded the Nanoleaf app & it's showing i have 2 thread networks 1 Alexa Echo & 1 Google Home Hub, but that one is called NEST-PAN-F366 so why when i try to connect a matter device, is it trying & failing to connect to NEST-PAN-02F2. ? Not F366?

Hi Pw24,
Thanks for visiting the Community.
hread is a wireless mesh connectivity protocol very similar to Wi-Fi, but was purposely designed for connecting smart home devices so they can perform even faster, more reliably, and more capably.
Not all Matter-enabled smart home devices from third-party manufacturers will include a Thread radio. Some Matter devices will simply connect to your Google Home over only your existing home Ethernet or Wi-Fi network. In order to get the best Matter experiences and performance over Thread with Google Home, you will need a compatible Google device that has Thread border router built-in.
The Thread border router in your Google device connects your Thread smart device network to the rest of your devices on your Wi-Fi or Ethernet; ensuring they are all communicating as one for Google Home.
The following Google devices can act as a Thread border router with Google Home:
To learn more about the benefits of Thread for your smart home devices, and which Google devices have a Thread border router built in - please read How Google products use Thread.
To learn more about Google and Matter, go to Make connections that Matter in Google Home.
Hope this helps.

Hi yes I know all that, did you read my post! It says I have the Nest hub 2nd Gen. Also I have 2 Matter devices that have thread that won't connect, but getting absolutely ZERO help from anyone at Google other than we will get back InTouch with you soon but they never do. Either Google Home or the Thread network on my 2nd gen nest hub is broken?

Hey there,
Thanks for clarifying. A few things I'd like to verify-- are your Matter devices already set up and working on its native app? If yes, let's perform a complete reset on your devices and set it up using its native app.
Once done, Open the Google Home app and remove your Google Nest Hub. Uninstall the Google Home app, reboot your set up device (mobile phone), router and your Google Nest Hub.
After the reboot, do the following steps:
Let me know how it goes.

No the devices are not setup in their app, there is no android app for the Eve smarplug & I don't have an Aqara hub so the p2 sensor is not setup in their app.
I have reset devices Eve smart plug & Aqara P2 door window sensor they were not connected to any of their apps, removed hub from Google home, uninstalled GH rebooted Phone & router, reset Nest Hub 2nd gen, installed GH app, added a new home, added the Nest hub but still cant connect matter device still get cannot connect to thead network Nest-Pan-02f2 which when I use the nano leaf app to scan Thread networks that does not exist?

Hey there,
Thanks for the additional details you've shared. Connecting Matter enabled devices varies by product. Some devices can be added to the Home app without third-party app set up. Since your devices are not set up on their native apps, we highly recommend you to reach out to your device's manufacturer.
Hope this helps.

Hi thanks both these products can be connected to Google Home via the Nest hub gen 2 without using any native apps, infact the Eve plug did connect to Google Home via matter & thread originally but kept going offline I deleted & tried to re add but won't add, I've asked other & majority of Google home users can connect both devices so does not look like the problem is with the device manufacturers especially as I can successfully connect both to Amazon Alexa. It definitely looks like a Google Home issue especially as they keep trying to connect to a Thread network on Google home that does not exist? Something withing Google home must be directing it to the thread network but not something a user can see? Can you not see in the background why?
