Nest Hub and Sling not staying linked

Is anyone else having trouble with nest hubs not playing Sling? If I unlink it and relink it, it'll work for about an hour where you can be off and on and it'll take the command. After an hour if you try to watch Sling again, it says sorry something went wrong and to try again.

I've reset devices and linked and unlinked to no avail. About ready to toss all Google products as every update makes things worse! Even speaker groups are messed up for the nest hub max.If anyone knows of a fix, please reply.

Sorry to hear about this experience. Since you've mentioned that you've already tried performing a complete reset and didn't work, I'd like to verify other things.

 

  • When did you first notice this issue?
  • What are the commands that you are using when using Sling?
  • Can you check other video providers like Netflix and see if you are also experiencing the same thing?

Also, if you can send a video or a short clip, that would be very helpful. We'd love to know more of it so we can try some other steps.

Noticed this about a month ago.

Commands are: Watch, then the channel name, on sling.

If I unlink sling, then relink, it'll work on 1st try, but after sitting idle for 30 to 40 minutes and you try it again, the response is "sorry something went wrong, try again when you're ready.

I haven't tried Netflix or any others as I don't subscribe to them.

When I had youtube tv, I could ask for a channel and it would load instantly. No with Sling it stalls and stalls takes minutes to load. Is google doing this for me to go back to YouTube tv? Is this in purpose? Seems like it.

I took all of my Google devices out and replaced them with Amazon Echo Shows. Way better than Google. Everything works flawless and fast.

Hi Muddi,

As much as I liked the Google products, it's sad that there is very little support for the products from Google. Here lately there has been so many bugs and issues with the whole product line. There is never a quick fix and it takes forever for updates to hopefully resolve an issue. Google needs to have a live chat session online for customers having problems rather than posting something and hoping someone at Google sees it and try to work on a solution. Even then it's a long drawn out process of questions and only getting a response back once a day. That's not good.

No unfortunately. I've submitted a form to Google to investigate, but haven't heard back from them.

Hey Juni,

I haven't gotten any response as you stated, very soon. This is  as of 9/25/23.

I sure would like a resolution so I can decide to either keep Google or switch over to Amazon's Alexa.
