Nest Hub not connecting to wifi

Sera
Community Member

I can’t set up my nest hub because my wifi isn’t showing up on the google home app. I have the Netgear Orbi 4GX router. I set up my nest doorbell with no issues. I’ve tried connecting on my current iPhone and on an old iPhone too (logging into the same google account). I’ve tried a reset of both the hub and the wifi. I’ve tried adding the wifi manually. I have the app updated on my phone. Not sure what else to do.

Hi Sera,

This is not the experience we wanted you to have, let me help you. A few things: when did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes made? When you said you did a reset, was it the same steps as what you see in this link?

To eliminate network issues, please try setting up your device using a mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one will serve as a router and the other to be used to set up your Google Home/Nest devices). Once done, check if your device will have the same behavior.

Also, since you’re using an iPhone, check these settings:

  1. Go to your phone’s settings
  2. Turn on Bluetooth
  3. Open privacy
  4. Tap local network access and enable Google Home

  • Note: Netgear Orbi routers have their own settings when adding devices to the network. If possible, contact Orbi support for further assistance.

Looking forward to your response.

Best,

Dan
