Nest Hub not showing Spotify Lyrics

For some reason, Spotify lyrics is not showing in my nest hub max. I can only see the icon for 1 second during the start of the song. I can't see it anymore after that. Help please! Thank you!

Same problem here. Is it a bug on spotifys end? Song is continually loading aswell and won’t let you see lyrics.

Strange innit? I've done a reboot of the hub, unlinked Spotify, updated Spotify and still not showing the same as before. Hope someone from Google can respond and provide an answer.

Hi folks,

 

This is not the experience we want you to have and thank you for trying some troubleshooting steps; let us help you. A few questions: which Nest speakers are we working with? When did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes made? What is the command you're giving?

 

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first: 

 

  1. Unplug the power cord from your router, followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.
  4. Unlink Spotify account from both your Google Home app and Spotify app.
  5. Uninstall then reinstall the Spotify app.

 

Also, you can try other music services and see if the behavior persists. Click this link to learn how to add other services.

Thanks for the follow up Juni. Yes, I have done everything, twice, and issue still persists.

A few questions: which Nest speakers are we working with? Nest Hub Max

When did your issue begin? This month

Were there any recent changes made? Not really. I've reset the Hub Max twice and this still happens.

 

What is the command you're giving? I'm just playing Spotify, no commands given. 

So basically, the lyrics Icon will only appear at the start of the music for less than a second and won't appear again unless I select next music, which then again would appear for half a second.

I'm also having the same issue with Spotify on Google Hub Max and Google Hub.

The lyrics button will be visible when a song starts, then flicker and disappear.

This has been happening for approximately the past month. I have gone through reboots and nothing has fixed the issue.

I'm also experiencing this issue and would like to see a response about whether this is a bug.

I have a 1st gen Google Home/Nest Hub. When a song on Spotify initially plays the two toggle buttons (show/hide lyrics and favorite/unfavorite) on the right under the time slider flashes for a split second and then disappear. If I spam tap where the buttons render while skipping the current song I can force the press to have lyrics appear but still have the same behavior with the toggle buttons not rendering.

Hi, is there any update on this? Bought a Nest Hub approximately one month ago. Exact problem happens to me. lyric button presents for 1 second, then it's gone.

Hi guys, it somehow works today. I clicked as many I can click when the lyric button appeared when changing song before it's disappeared. Somehow this time the lyric shows up!!

Maybe this bug only affects few people, so it's not their focus to find the solution. I really do hope that this can be resolved though.

Same here. Bought the hub today, at first I couldn’t swipe from right to left. Reboot the device, now the lyrics button appears and then disappears.

I just quickly clicked the lyrics icon when it flashed at the beginning of a song at it came back.

Yes it works if you do it that way. But it was not like this before. Lyrics icon should always be there and you can switch it off and on at any point in the song.

Same issue here, happening for months. Usually the button will briefly display for 1-2 seconds when the music starts, and again just before it ends (usually lasting more). And if you manage to click the button, then the lyrics are displayed correctly and will be kept open when the next song plays.

So my current workaround is to try to get lyrics open in the quick second at the beginning, or defer to the end of the 1st song, and then I can enjoy lyrics for the rest of my playlist.
