Nest Hub not showing all photos - As always

Hey guys, we've had a google hub max for a few years now. We even sent one to Romania to share photos with relatives.

We've always been having the issue of it NOT showing all the photos in the album I created for this purpose. I can't determine the pattern for why it shows some photos and not others.

I've read previous threads on this. Resetting- nope, NONE of the photos are ARCHIVED, so it's not that either.  High resolutions? 6000x4000 pixels, no problem displaying those. so NO, not resolution. ALL are JPG, so NOT a format issue either. Many (Pixel Pro) photos are 4080x3072/JPG. Early photos, canon, are 3504x2336. Some of those show, others don't!  I am not going to FAVORITE 972 images. Sorry, that's not a viable hack.

I am at a loss.  A bummer as we cannot share with our family in Europe, which was one of the best features of the Hub Max, other than the video calling, which has (sadly) turned into Google Meet. We like DUO the way it WAS. Sorry guys.

Anyone else find the REAL solution? If so, can you please post it here and relock it, if I was completely daft and didn't find the proper answer when looking?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi dahmooser,
I'm encountering the exact same problem with my Nest Hub Max not displaying all the photos from my album or photos I just not want. Just like you, I've checked all the usual suspects: resolution, file format, archiving, etc., and none of these seem to be the culprit. It's frustrating.
I noticed in the old thread that several other users are facing this issue too, yet a definitive solution seems elusive.
If anyone has found a workaround or a fix, sharing it would be immensely appreciated by all of us struggling with this issue.
Thanks!

Francois,

I speculate it might have to do with some kind of weight the system attaches to photos. For example, have you noticed it pairs two similar food items side by side?

I speculate certain photos get "momentum" and others are pushed to the back of the line and never make it to the screen.

Purely a guess because one thing is clear: the choices it makes are not a random number between 1 and 100 ( assuming 100 photos total) where it randomizes and then removes that number til it gets through the next 99 and then "reshuffles". Something more complex is being attempted...and doing well with food items and bad with the full collection of all photos we've chosen to be cycled through.

🤷🏼‍

Hi,
It seems you've delved much deeper into this issue than I have! I'm perplexed by the complexity of what should be a straightforward feature. All we're asking for is to display photos in an album – it's not rocket science! It's baffling why such a simple task has become so convoluted with Google.

I have the same problem. Several albums with thousands of photos are selected, but the same few photos are displayed in a loop. Google simply selects a few photos in the beginning and displays them in the aforementioned never-ending loop.

Google: Please fix, this is important to me and embarrassing for you because this has gone on the years.

Thanks OliJon! Makes me feel like I'm not going insane. I am deep into using technology, so, this came as a real disappointment.

I feel your frustration! Have you tried checking the file names or any special characters in them? Sometimes, that can affect photo recognition on devices like Google Hub Max. Additionally, ensuring all photos are within the same folder might help resolve the inconsistency issue. Good luck sorting it out! you might also consider download CapCut, a user-friendly video editing app, to refine and organize your media files.

I am sharing folders from Google Photos containing photos taken with Google Camera that probably names the files in accordance with recommended format.

The problem is that Nest Hub and Nest Hub Max, I own and use both, do not live up to expectations in this area and many others. These are mature products and basic glitches like this one should have been fixed a long time ago. So it is that, if asked, I cannot recommend these products.
