Google Nest Hub previously connected and worked fine. I unplugged it for a few months. Nothing changed with wifi set-up, I did not move locations, etc.
Reconnected power. Tried to connect from Google Home. Received error message that the device was already set up by someone else! I'm the only person in the house. After multiple attempts to reconnect I ended up factory resetting the hub. It will connect to WiFi and show in the Google Home app, but when I click on the device it only gives me the option to change the volume for cast screen. Casting screen makes Google Nest Hub show a completely white screen. Google Nest Hub is stuck on a "link account" screen.
Troubleshooting steps completed:
Wifi network on phone and hub are the same.
Split 2.4 and 5 GHz network on router. Camera system only will connect to 2.4 so I know it works.
Rebooted router
Made sure Google home app was updated. It was, so I uninstalled and reinstalled...no help.
Power cycled Hub
Factory reset hub and reconnected again.
In one of the posts here I saw to download Google Assistant app, which I did. No help.
Over 2 hours later and still can't get anywhere. So frustrating!!

Hi @AG99,
Thanks for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble setting up your Google Nest Hub, especially since it's stuck on the “link account” screen after a factory reset. I understand how disappointing this must be, particularly because your Nest Display was working fine before being unplugged, and you've already tried some troubleshooting steps to fix it without success. I appreciate the detailed information you’ve provided and the steps you've already taken. Don't worry; let's work together to resolve this issue. To help with that, I have a few questions:
Please let me know how it goes after trying these steps.
Cheers,
Jonathan

I finally got it to work, but the only way I could was to delete my entire "home" setup, including all other devices that were already set-up and functioning fine.
I will go ahead and answer your questions in case this happens again.
2nd Gen Nest Hub
personal Google account
I added it as a new device into my existing Home set-up. It showed in the "Home" set-up but would not complete the sign in process on the display. The only options I could see on my phone Google Home app was to increase the volume and share the screen from my phone to the device, which wouldn't work. The device connected to WiFi with no issues.

Hi @AG99,
Thanks for your reply. I'm glad to hear that you were able to resolve your setup issue by deleting your entire home, including all your other devices, and adding them to a new home in the Google Home app. I appreciate you taking the time to answer these questions. Please continue to monitor your Google Nest Hub's behavior to ensure everything continues to work smoothly.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Cheers,
Jonathan
