Nest Hub turns in randomly

RustyShacklefrd

My nest hub screen randomly turns in on the middle of the night. It's in my night stand so it wakes me up. I've gone through the setting in the Home app and don't see anything that could be causing this. I have gestures turned off so it's not a movement or something affecting it.

Hi RustyShacklefrd,

That's quite interesting. Let's check it out ― when did this start? Could you check your routines or alarms if you see anything out of the ordinary? Also, when you said turns on, does that mean it was off during the night or it just suddenly triggered? What is it doing when triggered? Are you the only one who's able to control your Nest Hub?

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first. Unplug the power cord of your router followed by your Nest speakers. Plug them back in after 3 minutes tops. Restarting your phone might also help. Monitor and tell us how it goes.

Best,

Dan

Hey there,

I wanted to follow up and see if you still need help. Please let me know if you are still having any concerns or questions from here, as I would be happy to take a closer look and assist you further.

Kind regards,

Dan

I have no routines or automations. Alarms are not set until the morning. Gesture controls are turned off. The screen goes from off to on at random through the night. First it will show the clock screen then flips to the “your evening” screen and sits on that screen for 15 seconds and then turns off again.

I have done the power cycling and it didn’t change anything.

wakes me up every night as the screen is very bright, happens between 11pm and 3am

Hi RustyShacklefrd,

Chiming in to ensure everything is covered here. To confirm, is there a third-party application enabled on your device like Weather Frog? Please provide the firmware version of your device. Follow the steps below to know-how:

  1.  Swipe up from the bottom of the display screen.
  2. Tap Settings and then About device. You should find your "Cast firmware version."
    • For Nest Hub (1st gen) and Nest Hub Max: If “Fuchsia Version” is also listed, this means your device runs Fuchsia.

Looking forward to your response.

Cheers,

Muddi

No third party apps.

System firmware version: 324896

Cast firmware: 1.56.324896

Hi I have been doing more research and it seems this problem goes back years and has never been fixed. Would google like to refund my money? I’m outside the return policy from the store of purchase. I get woken up most nights because of this bug.
