Nest Max Hub stuck in updating loop after boot

Hi,
I have a Nest Max that has been working flawlessly, until last week. It rebooted at some point and now does a fast 12-second "update", reboots, and then repeats the process in an endless loop. I have reset it at least 10 times on my network, as well as on a secondary network that I set up for testing, and even on a neighbor's network to prove that the issue is not with my home network.
I have scoured through various forums and have tried almost everything suggested.
Is there anything else that I am missing and should try?

TIA

I'm having the same issue on two of my devices. They have been stuck in the loop for about a week. Looking for help...

That is about when mine went on the fritz. I will let you know if I discover anything.

I am having the same problems. Tried all the troubleshoots.

Please let me have a solution as I am missing my Nest Hub too much.

I have the same symptoms. Have you resolved it?

Not yet, I will be looking at other support options today, Activity on this thread may help.

Alright, after a day of dedicated research, I have found out the devices are truly bricked. There is a way you could maybe upload a firmware to them; if we had a signed original firmware, which was never published to the public at any point. The process is ugly and highly technical and I am sure google would not like me listing it here,

If your device is under warranty, then contact Google and they more than likely send you a new one for anybody else, including me, who is out of warranty, you are out of luck. Congratulations on your new paperweight. I will be listing mine on eBay for anybody who wants to take a soldering iron to it.

I won’t be replacing mine anytime soon. The Nest was at the top of the heap at one point when it came to using it as a smart home device. But lack of any real advancements in the last 5 years, and with AI assistance on the horizon, I will just have to take another look at it then.

In the meantime, I go back to using Alexa as my voice input to my smart home, losing (and gaining) many of the features that Google once filled.

May I ask what did you research to come to this conclusion because my Nest Hub 2 after resetting it is having the same issue

I opened a ticket with Google support over the weekend. After going through the basic steps of factory resetting and attempting to add the device to the Home app, my issue was escalated. From there, I answered a few questions about the behavior and provided the serial numbers of my two devices that are affected. The technician told me that they were aware of some devices that were having this issue and that they would contact me when they knew how to fix it. Until then, no fix available and my two Google Next Max devices are stored away in the closet 😞

Not that it will help your issue immediately, but perhaps if more cases are opened with the Google support team, some additional priority might be given to getting this resolved. https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp?hl=en

Good luck all!
